SKA’s Third Annual Tefillah Initiative: Davening At The Beach

SKA tashlich IMG_1323For the third year, before Aseret Yemei Teshuvah, the students of the Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls had a special opportunity on Tuesday, September 30, to wake up early and join their friends, teachers, and madrichot for an inspirational davening overlooking the beach. Surrounded by Hashem’s wonders really added to each girl’s tefillah; gazing at the vast ocean vista and daveningShacharit gave everyone a new appreciation for all that Hashem does. After davening, the girls were treated to a delicious breakfast at the Atlantic Beach Jewish Center and heard a beautiful dvarTorah from Mrs. Kaminetsky. Sharing their thoughts on the experience and meaningful words relating to it in the siddur brought everyone new insights on davening and connecting with Hashem.

Thanks for the outing goes to the TTYL (Turning Tefillah into Your Life) Committee at SKA under the direction of Mrs. Elisheva Kaminetsky, director of religious guidance, and the Atlantic Beach Jewish Center for hosting. This was a great way to head into Yom Kippur!
