Spike Lee Gives Jewish Boy His Own Film as a Birthday Present (VIDEO)

Iconic director Spike Lee recently gave one Jewish boy in New York the most distinctive birthday gift a film director can offer someone: his own movie.

Dylan Freidman, son of New York City taxi mogul Gene Freidman, shot a short film with Lee in mid-June as a birthday gift. Titled “Dylan’s Wish,” the film follows the 9-year-old boy through Brooklyn’s Prospect Park and other locations in the city, as he tries to turn the occasion into an opportunity to make his peers “happy and nice.”

Replete with a party scene featuring Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power,” and an eerie dream-like sequence in the park, Dylan’s birthday eventually turns into an incredibly unique day.

Friedman’s friend and Algemeiner blogger Ronn Torrosian, whose daughter appears in the video, told The Algemeiner that Lee is good friends with Freidman and offered up the video as a gift to both Dylan and Gene.
