Take Ten for Central

In an effort to concretize the sublime and often overwhelming task of teshuvah, the religious programming team at Central put together #TENforTEN, a practical guide to performing one achievable, realistic act of Torah or chesed each day of the Aseret Yemei Teshuvah. “The idea was to make the Aseret Yemei Teshuvah a bit more meaningful and to give practical advice as how to achieve that,” said Ms. Miriam Borenstein, director of religious programming. “Rabbi Joshua Goller worked to make the project as practical as it could be for our students–and ourselves.” The #TENforTEN guide included daily teshuvah suggestions such as practicing one hour of shemirat ha’lashon, focusing on a small part of tefillah, and performing an extra task of kibud horim. Students found that the guide made the teshuvah process more accessible. “The #TENforTEN program made it easy to really take advantage of the holiness and spiritual opportunities of the Aseret Yemei Teshuvah,” said Bailey Fink, ’18.
