Rabbi Dr. Henry Hasson has been nominated to receive the special Achievement Award at the Aleh Foundation Gala Awards Dinner. Dr. Hasson is an assistant professor of neurology and pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, and also affiliated with Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. He was ordained with semichah in 2002 from Yeshivas Pirchei Shoshanim. Dr. Hasson serves as president of the Halachic Organ Donor Society and serves as chairman of the board of education for the Yeshiva of Flatbush. In his practice he diagnosis and treats children with developmental disorders and various neurological disabilities. He also helps children with epilepsy, ADHD, headaches, and other neurological conditions. He provides Torah enrichment as well through his weekly divrei Torah and classes.
Rabbi Jules Fleischer, an active member of the board of directors of Aleh Foundation, expressed his overwhelming hakaras hatov to Dr. Hasson, who has provided the best medical care for children in the community.
Dr. Hasson was recently interviewed on Health Watch Radio by Dr. Jacques Doueck and answered questions from parents about children’s symptoms, testing, medication, etc. Dr. Hasson patiently answers all questions related to pediatric neurological problems.
One of his patients commented, “I wish our other doctors were like Dr. Hasson, so kind to kids with a realistic conservative approach about what they need. He listens and weighs what parents tell him, and doesn’t just go by testing.” Dr. Hasson is a member of the Child Neurology Society, American Academy of Neurology, American Neurological Association, and American Epilepsy Society. Dr. Hasson has authored hundreds of publications.
