Recently, I saw the news that Joy Behar had left The View, a program she has been associated with for many years. Rarely have I heard more despicable diatribes than the ones she has aired. Many people, myself included, stopped watching this program long ago, so the effect on me should have been minimal. It was not, because I occasionally tune in to see what the ladies on the panel are up to.

Which Republican or Conservative are they lambasting? What liberal nonsense are they currently blathering about? What disparaging remarks are they making about the president, his family, and everyone associated with him? I also want to see how many audience members are clapping, laughing, and cheering. Possibly there are signs that light up to indicate when the audience should clap and cheer since that is what often transpires on these types of programs. On The View it is also entirely possible that members of the audience are advised that anyone who is not cheering and clapping will not get on camera. And audience members are notorious for wanting to be on camera so they may be seen by friends and relatives.

Ms. Behar isn’t the only one who trashes our president. Whoopi Goldberg and the others are right there with her. It appears that somebody forgot to tell these ladies that they are not a news program. Theirs is a gabfest with an entertainment format, and their political views and opinions are not worth a dime. But that doesn’t stop them. They continuously espouse their views. Perhaps they are confused. Because the program is called The View they may think that their views are valuable and informative. They are not. But it is the loud-mouthed Ms. Behar who is the most appalling to me. She is unable to come to terms with the fact that Trump won the election and that he is the president. Get over it, girl–Hillary did not make the cut!

Admittedly, Donald Trump does not always do it for me! I did vote for him, and I am glad that I did and I would do it all again. I do not think he is unintelligent as some claim. He was intelligent enough to beat out 17 others in the primary and then intelligent enough to get the majority of electoral votes to become president. I also do not think he’s insane or demented, as he has occasionally been labeled by the left. That said, however, it is clear that he has issues that should be addressed. For starters, the man occasionally tells whoppers. Oddly, his lies are unnecessary ones and, even more interesting, they are ridiculous since they can be, and so often are, unmasked as lies. The man just likes the sound of his own voice. So he babbles. His tweets are not bothersome. Thanks to a press that is liberal and biased, tweeting is the best, fastest, and the easiest way for him to get his messages out.

Another of Trump’s shortcomings is that he never apologizes. He is not an articulate man and for that reason he is often misunderstood, but he doesn’t bother to explain himself. He simply waits for the latest brouhaha to subside. This is something of a character flaw. But then who among us is perfect?

In a recent phone call to the wife of a fallen soldier, a call that was meant both to comfort her and to honor her late husband, he managed to insult her. He was misunderstood by that Gold Star Wife and, despite being understandably busy, he would have done well to call her back and explain that she had misunderstood what he said and that he honored and respected her husband. He might have explained that he had called her for the sole purpose of giving her comfort. If calling her a second time was not an option, he might have tweeted about it and explained to a critical public what his message to her was. He did neither. But, as is so often the case with him, it was a flash in the pan, a brief and temporary blip on the radar screen. He could have handled it better; however, the moment passed and the unfortunate incident is all but forgotten.

All of that said, there are things about Trump that we must applaud. His most recent accomplishment is the long-overdue recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and his commitment to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to that city. Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama all pledged to do it but it never happened–until now! Never having been a politician, this is one president who is making every attempt to fulfill all of his campaign promises in spite of opposition from those on the left.

Charles Schumer (a.k.a. Crying Chuck) and Nancy Pelosi are leaders of the wolf pack that hounds him, and not far behind are Bernie Sanders, Maxine Waters, and Elizabeth Warren. Trump’s recent reference to Warren as Pocahontas, which the left claimed was a racial comment that cast aspersions on the (Powhatan) Native American woman, was nothing of the sort. Pocahontas saved the life of Englishman John Smith and was responsible for peace between the Colonists and the Indians, albeit a fragile peace that eroded after her death. Referring to Warren as Pocahontas was typical Trump and his way of reminding us of Warren’s deception. She has a scant Native American history which she supposedly used to gain a position at Harvard. She put herself on the “Minority Law Teacher” list.

Warren, Waters, Sanders, Schumer, and Pelosi aside, the most irritating, disrespectful, and hateful behavior of all is that of Joy Behar. I still will not be watching The View very often, but when I do tune in to see what the panel is up to, it will be a pleasure not to have to see or hear Ms. Joy Behar, a woman so obviously misnamed. Clearly, she is no joy! That’s just the way it is.
