This event has been discussed by thousands worldwide and is set to be a once in a lifetime experience. This event is the siyum Hashas of Dirshu.
We must clarify that the Siyum HaShas (translated as the ending of Shas), will not celebrate the ending of the political party named Shas!
This siyum (completion party) will celebrate the completion of the twelfth cycle of Daf Yomi. The daf yomi (a page a day) movement was founded in Poland in the year 1923 by Rav Meir Shapiro ob”m. Each cycle takes just over seven years to complete.
Over 10,000 are expected to attend the Dirshu Kinus Olam HaTorah. Honored personages will include Gedolei Hador and Roshei Yeshiva, Rabbanim and maggidei shiurim. Young and old, deriving from cities across Israel and spanning the spectrum of Orthodox Jewry all number among the devoted participants in Dirshu’s varied study programs. These earnest learners of Torah who toil diligently every day of the year now merit the awesome privilege of completing Shas.
Live broadcasts will be transmitted in real time from the Kinus Olam HaTorah in to locations throughout Israel.
On Tuesday, 12 Av, Dirshu will sponsor a second major event on behalf of English speakers participating in one of Dirshu’s varied learning programs.
