When medicine no longer offers a cure, Parker’s community/inpatient hospice offers highly specialized care for terminally ill patients. Through pain control and symptom management, as well as emotional support, thoroughly experienced professional staff provides care in patients’ homes or in nursing facilities, including Parker’s nursing home. Personalized care plans are developed to meet the individual needs of each patient and foster a calm and loving environment that benefits patients and family members. Every patient has access to skilled nursing and physician services, as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Home health aides and short-term respite care are available, as is medical transportation, medical equipment, and medications. Social work services and 24-hour on-call services are provided. A complementary care/alternative medicine program, multi-denominational spiritual counseling, trained volunteers, and bereavement counseling reflect the comfort and compassion that have come to define the program. Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurance plans are accepted.
