With the October 11 deadline for voter registration by mail in New York State, Agudath Israel of America has again issued a call for unregistered Orthodox Jewish voters to register to vote in the upcoming crucial general elections.
“If you’re not registered, you can’t vote,” observed Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, Agudath Israel’s executive vice president. “And if you can’t vote, your voice won’t be heard. And if your voice won’t be heard, we all suffer. Our numbers count!”
Those eligible can register in person at the board of elections, or at any NY State Agency-Based voter registration center, no later than October 11. Call the BOE hotline (1-800-FOR-VOTE) to request a voter application, or download a PDF version of the New York State Voter Registration Form at www.elections.ny.gov/NYSBOE/download/voting/voteform.pdf. To be eligible to vote in the upcoming all-important November 5 general elections, applications must be postmarked no later than October 11 and received by a board of elections no later than October 16. v
