Inna Koppel is a gamechanger. The personable owner of the hugely successful Woodmere Fitness Club, formerly known as Studio Inna, is set on keeping our community’s residents, many of whom are clients and personal friends, fit and healthy in WFC’s state-of-the-art, safe, and secure facility. Forget any preconceived notions you may be harboring about other workout centers or fitness programs—Woodmere Fitness Club affords its clients a world-class experience like no other.
Woodmere Fitness Club represents the confluence of a staff, educated in the latest science of movement, strength, and exercise physiology, under the leadership of Inna Koppel, attuned to the psychosocial contributions to wellness and fitness. WFC is dedicated to promoting emotional and physical strength and endurance.
“For a long time, I found going to the gym to be just another task, often a challenge, that would intensify my load of responsibilities, rather than alleviating it,” said T.R. “Woodmere Fitness Club changed that. Instead of dreading the workout and exiting a class more exhausted than when I entered, I felt an energy that revitalized me. Inna’s enthusiasm is contagious and I feel it permeating other aspects of my life. Attending Inna’s classes for the past six years has helped me rediscover the joys of being energized. Inna’s friendly and personable nature makes her a motivator who is inspiring and accessible to her clients. Thanks to WFC and to Inna herself, I now look forward to rejuvenating my mind in a unique and refreshing way.”
“I have great appreciation for the crew at WFC,” P.H. explained. “Their knowledge of health and fitness as well as proper nutrition has helped me and so many of my friends and family. The classes are rewarding but challenging. Inna and her staff are amazing in what they do—lending loads of encouragement along the way.”
“I found my calling,” said Inna, a North Woodmere resident who previously worked as a social worker for public schools. “I feel so lucky. I don’t know how this happened. My members inspire me to be here. They are really supportive. They drive this place forward. You feel it when you are here.”
Inna recently partnered with Emunah in an effort to raise $50,000 to build a sports and multi-purpose facility in Achuzat Sarah, one of Emunah’s five children’s residential homes for children at risk in Israel. Inna was the visionary behind this highly successful extravaganza, which drew a capacity crowd at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns sports complex. A Russian immigrant who came to this country with her family in 1976, Inna movingly recalls the benevolence and generosity of organizations that helped Russian Jewry embrace and acclimate to their new home in America. These memories serve as a motivating source, inspiring her to help others.
Inna and her family visited Achuzat Sarah several years ago and were impressed with Emunah’s dedication to helping vulnerable children. They witnessed firsthand how these children, who for myriad reasons are unable to live at home, are lovingly cared for and nurtured by the staff in this “City of Angels.” Inna returned, knowing she had to help, which is precisely what she has done on numerous occasions.
Achuzat Sarah is a warm, supportive, year-round home for approximately 140 children, ages 6–18. Here they have the opportunity to “smile and be educated,” to grow up in a family environment with a sense of belonging, and develop self-confidence while growing, flourishing, and progressing toward a better future.
The children are referred by the welfare authorities after being removed from their homes in the belief that an out-of-home placement will be most beneficial to them, both now and in the future. At Achuzat Sarah, these precious children are welcomed with open arms, love, and a smile. The children are educated in a religious-national framework that instills moral, ethical, social, and religious values. Their goal is to provide each child with a happy childhood that will prepare him or her for independent adulthood and help them realize their full potential in the future.
Following more than 50 years of educational efforts, Achuzat Sarah is proud of its thousands of graduates who have successfully integrated into all segments of Israeli society as confident and contributing participants.
Dedicated in loving memory of Inna’s mother, Sheila Roit, a’h, the recent Five Towns event boasted a sports-memorabilia auction, yoga, kickboxing, spinning, and a men’s boot camp. Orchestrated to perfection, this sports initiative exceeded all expectations. In addition to being exciting and enjoyable, it achieved its intended goal, attesting to the dedication and enthusiastic support of Inna, her team of consummate professionals, and her clients, all working in tandem for the greater good.
“Our community is unsurpassed in its commitment to performing acts of chesed and helping those in need, says Inna, who is always at the forefront of chesed initiatives. “When it comes to reaching out and helping others, my team of clients are first-responders, always ready and on call to lend a hand; whether raising funds or hosting families who had no place to stay during Superstorm Sandy, I know that I can count on them. We are more than fitness—we try to give back to the community in every way possible.”
With the launch of the much-anticipated Woodmere Fitness Club, Inna is affording our community a fabulous opportunity to achieve and maintain a healthier lifestyle. WFC is dedicated to keeping every member of your family in the best of health. With women-only classes, strength-training for women, men and teens, kids’ fitness, diet coaching, and free babysitting, it’s your home away from home.
WFC’s cutting-edge programs offer a plethora of possibilities, including Starting Strength: get strong with the popular Barbell Circle, open gym membership, or private training for those individuals seeking to gain strength, increase the body’s ability to burn fat, and build strong bones. Through the use of the Starting Strength method, participants focus on the body’s most basic movement patterns, using four barbell exercises that build strength: squat, overhead press, bench press, and deadlift. Lifters increase the weight on the bar with each training session (linear progression). Accordingly, this program can be performed by both beginners as well as advanced lifters.
WFC offers an exciting program for every member of the family. Women’s classes include: The Ultimate Fit Female (T.U.F.F.); Kickboxing Plus; Fit to the Core; Roll & Restore; Yoga, and more!
“Woodmere Fitness Club definitely lives up to its fabulous reputation,” says Sari F. “I can’t believe I waited so long to join. Inna and her staff are powerhouses. I can’t wait for my next week of classes!”
Discover the joy of good health by gaining strength and feeling energized at Woodmere Fitness Club. You will love being a member of Inna’s special team. v
