Yachad-LI had a really successful event on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, spending the afternoon with local high school students from Haftr, DRS and SKA making their very own sushi! Yachad members and students rolled together under the guidance and expertise of Stop Chop & Roll who led them step by step in the art of fine sushi making. Eating their very own sushi together was the highlight of the day, following which, all the participants enjoyed some pizza and refreshments! Yachad sends a big thank you to Eli Elias and Mackenzie Taller for all their hard work in organizing this incredible inclusion event, and to the Elais and Taller families for their sponsorships of the event. Yachad-LI continues to promote inclusion of individuals with disabilities into all areas of Jewish life and runs local programs, parent support groups, vocational services, school and more to families of individuals with disabilities.
