YUHG - Group MusicAt Yeshiva University High School for Girls, freshmen Marnie and Michelle Weingarten are in the process of establishing the Central branch of Music Vs., an organization that uses the musical arts to facilitate student interactions with veterans, hospital patients, and the elderly. The organization, founded at Yeshiva University by their brother, Mark Weingarten, has spread to over 25 colleges and universities worldwide. Participants sing, dance, or just “clap with a smile” to introduce themselves to their audience and to make conversation flow more easily. Over the summer, Marnie and Michelle applied for the ABC Summer of Service Award . . . and they won a grant of $1,000 to found a new high-school branch of the program! We can’t wait to see Music Vs. in action.
