Shavuos has passed and the summer will soon arrive. For most young families, this is the perfect time to buy a house and move in before the new school year begins. Look at our Facebook page at Facebook.com/Astor.Brokerage, or our website, astorbrokerage.com, to see the new listings we have.

I am glad to sit down with any first-time buyer to explain the process and what should be done before you buy. Equally important, I will sit with potential sellers and explain the process and what needs to be done to get your home ready for sale.

Some homeowners are not ready to sell; you may want to stay in your house and “age in place.” What have you done to make the house easier for you to live in as you get older? What have you done to ensure that you preserve the value of the house for your children? Do you know that there are things you can do to keep your house from going to pay for nursing home care if you need that in the future?

For most people, their home is their most valuable investment. I would be happy to explain options to you and to guide you to professionals who can help you with your estate planning.
