We spend a lot of time and energy focusing on self-imposed deadlines, especially when it comes to holidays. We put immense pressure on ourselves. Passover is a big one, both when it comes to looking forward, preparing for weeks, overworking but enjoying the holiday, and then finally recovering! Whether you are celebrating at home or going away on a program, there is a lot of preparation. You have strong anticipation and try to stay under control, so you are ready. You want your family to enjoy the time together without it being too taxing.

It is common for some people to feel a little let down emotionally after the excitement and focus on getting it done has passed. The children and grandchildren go back home, and we try to resume our day to day. It may feel a little empty and depressing without having a focus, and without looking forward to the shared family time.

As the weather takes a turn towards spring, it is often a time of year when we reflect and seek to incorporate healthier habits. It can be difficult to retrain our mindset and resume healthy habits after such a gluttonous holiday. Whether eating at home or on a program, overeating to insatiable proportions hinders our goals and expands our waistline. The stomach is an interesting organ that expands when we overeat, making us literally want to keep overeating to epic proportions in order to feel satiety. Bubbie’s matzah brei at home, or the endless carving stations on the program have left their mark. Our clothing does not fit the same way it did just two weeks ago. The potato starch filler in many side dishes and desserts leave us feeling bloated. We regret the extra dessert we enjoyed, but of course not enough to have not taken that second or third piece of cake at the buffet. How can you have regrets when it tasted like chametzdik seven-layer cake!

As we resume our regular routine and begin looking forward, there has never been a better time to get back on track. Utilizing acupuncture to help provide emotional support can be tremendously beneficial. It can help you feel more balanced and happier after everyone has gone back home. There are incredible acupuncture points which help establish emotional balance and harmony. After a treatment you feel happier, less stressed, at complete bliss, without a care in the world.

I encourage my patients to seek overall wellness. Acupuncture along with a healthy diet and exercise is optimal. It is especially important when trying to get back on track when you need to jumpstart your weight loss program. Sometimes the feat may loom too large when you have had a setback from all the Passover food. Instead of beating yourself down and feeling discouraged, give acupuncture a try to help make it that much easier. There are specific acupuncture points that help you feel full and emotionally balanced regarding food. Your family will thank you when you are no longer hangry! It can also help promote proper digestion. Matzahcertainly has a significant impact on slowing down digestive motility and causing constipation. After Passover, many of my patients complain of constipation, overall inflammation, and feeling sluggish both physically and emotionally. They describe feeling bogged down as a result. Acupuncture is remarkably effective at restoring optimal digestion and keeping things moving.

The habits you implement post Pesach are equally as important as the preparation you made for the Sederplate, or how many outfits you had to pack. This is a wonderful time to embark on a well-rounded wellness regimen that will help guide you. Now is the optimal time to begin implementing acupuncture and healthy tools and solutions for optimal wellness. Allow acupuncture to help you get back on track. Emotional support and partnership on your wellness journey is what we are all seeking. AcuZen Wellness Center provides a natural complete solution. I am happy to help you achieve your personal wellness goals. Instead of feeling guilty about that extra dessert, while feeling the pinch around the waistline, start by taking action and doing something about it! In a couple of weeks, you will be grateful you did. 
