EMUNAH, which was born through the tireless efforts of a few visionary women in Israel in 1935, will pay tribute to “Empowering Women” at its Spring Luncheon on May 19th, 2015, at the Prince George Ballroom in NYC.
“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to pay tribute to role models; women who are successful professionals, supporters of Jewish life and tradition, and are actively involved in supporting Israel,” said Karen Spitalnick, Emunah National President. “EMUNAH began as a women’s organization, and it is appropriate for us to recognize accomplished women today who serve as an inspiration, encouraging other women to reach their full potential.”
Miriam Wallach, general manager of the Nachum Segal Network and host of radio program “That’s Life” will be the keynote speaker.
The five honorees at the Luncheon are:  Alana Kessler, founder, owner and director of Sangha Yoga Shala, a community yoga and wellness boutique, Dr. Micole Tuchman, dermatologist, Dr. Joyce Weg Rydzinksi, child and adolescent psychiatrist, Lisa Septimus, Yoetzet Halacha for the Five Towns and Manhattan communities and Rebbitzen of the Young Israel of North Woodmere, and Susan T. Weg, a specialist in speech-language pathology.
Long active in empowering women in Israel, EMUNAH has been instrumental in protecting women’s rights in the Jewish State. EMUNAH operates programs for women in business, offering leadership lectures and opportunities to network. This is in addition to its four award-winning girls’ high schools and College of Art for young women. EMUNAH operates crisis centers open to women in distress from every segment of Israeli society.

EMUNAH’s 250 social welfare and educational programs across Israel strive to improve the lives of each child, family and senior citizen in Israel. EMUNAH was the proud recipient of the Israel Prize for its social, educational, humanitarian and cultural contribution to Israeli society.
Luncheon Chairmen are Sora Grunstein and Tova Gerson. Cheryl Borenstein, Miriam Ellenberg, Ronnie Faber, Debbie Joseph, Lisa Schechter and Debbie Siegler are serving on the Luncheon Committee. Proceeds from the event will support EMUNAH’s girls’ educational and vocational high schools and its college for young women in Israel.
