SHS Live

As Shulamith High School’s second week of distance learning comes to a close, the administration took a moment to reflect and express gratitude. Last week, their adrenaline was pumping; they were quick out of the gate to assure routine, continuity, and connectivity for students.

In almost lightning speed, teachers got themselves, the students, and the new school called “SHS Live” up and running. They implemented a plan and instantly began adjusting, tweaking, and making it even better. This has given students an inside look into the educators at SHS: they create, they implement, they learn and listen, they try more and they try again. They are relentless in their pursuit of good on behalf of their students.

Students will always remember their remarkable teachers who made every effort to keep them within the framework of the familiar, that they did everything (working around their own families, anxieties, and worries) to teach and connect with them. Thank you!

Responding to crisis often focuses us and allows us to move forward with clarity. Now that we are beginning to settle into a new sort of normal, we all need to dig deep for patience, faith, and most importantly, gratitude. We must turn to the people around us and say thank you to the students, parents, faculty, and community. We need each other more than ever and we have the power to get through this together.

On erev Shabbat, Mrs. Packer and Rabbi Trump offered video inspirational messages. The week also featured a Rosh Chodesh Nissan concert with Duvi Shapiro, paint night with Ms. Cohn, Cafe B’Ivrit with Mrs. Munk, “Chopped” with Ms. Wolf, hafrashat challah and davening for all the cholim, Zoom Fashion Show, pre-Shabbat ruach with Sorah Shaffren and Shimi Adar, a lot of Zoom learning, and a special Pesach Yom Iyun. Learning never stops on SHS Live! 
