I am excited to share my brand new single. This is a heartfelt song of inner worth and intrinsic value, from parent to child. You are valued. You are important. You deserve to be respected. You can achieve great things.
This is a very special and personal song for me. As my eldest son was becoming a bar mitzvah, I thought about what message I would want to instill within him as he begins this next stage of life. I honestly couldn’t think of a more important message than the one my parents instilled within me from when I was very little.
“Sarah, we love you very much. We are so proud of you. You are a very special girl. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to be healthy. You deserve good things to happen to you. Surround yourself with positive people — people who love you and believe in you. Believe in yourself and you can achieve anything. We believe in you.”
These words were whispered into my ear every single night. They became my inner voice. The message of internal worth has helped me in every aspect of my life, and I try to do everything I can to give this same gift to my children.
So, when it came to my son’s bar mitzvah, instead of sharing a speech, I wrote a song. This is a personal message for him. For my children. For me. For us.
