On Tuesday, March 3, the SKA Sonics played the Ilan Invaders at Magen David.
The game started off evenly matched, and then SKA sophomores kicked into high gear, with a 3-pointer by Megan Solomon, followed by a 3-pointer by Leora Bennett, followed by a 3-pointer by Rivka Kahn.
Going into half time SKA was in the lead 35–14. Ilan made a run to start the second half and at the end of the 3rd quarter the score was 38–25. But the Sonics pulled away in the 4th quarter with an amazing group effort and awesome teamwork. The final score was 54–37.
All SKA scorers were led by Naomi Sigman with 12, Leora Bennett with 11, Rivka Kahn with 10, Rebecca Aaron with 8, Racheli Kirschner and Megan Solomon with 5, and Atara Sicklick adding 3.
The Super Sonics had an incredible season, going undefeated in the regular season 12–0, and the post season 2–0.
The Sonics will be losing their senior and fearless leader, Racheli Kirschner. She will be missed, as will her divrei Torah, and pump-up speeches. She was a true anchor of the team. Looking forward to season 2020–2021!
