Some Enchanted Evening: Steve Eisenberg Presents The Second Tu B’Av White Party In Bal Harbour

Tu B’Av has long been a day of mystery and enchantment. Long before résumés and intensive shidduchinvestigations entered the scene, marriage-minded singles were afforded a unique way of meeting. On the 15th of Av, dressed in white linen, young girls would go down to the vineyards to dance. There, the eligible bachelors would be matched up with them. The Talmud considers Tu B’Av to be the greatest festival of the year, with Yom Kippur a close second. Forty-five days prior to Rosh Hashanah, this was the day on which we begin to wish each other a Ksiva v’Chasima Tovah

Our Gedolim explain that just as Yom Kippur symbolizes atonement for the sin of eigel hazahavTu B’Avsymbolizes atonement for the cheit hameraglim. This is what the Gedolim meant when they said: “No days were as festive for Israel as the 15th of Av and Yom Kippur,” for there is no greater joy than having one’s sins forgiven.

In modern times, Tu B’Av serves as a day for matchmaking, weddings, and proposals, as well as increasing Torah study. Particularly significant in an era when obliterating the shidduch crisis has become a burning issue, Tu B’Av is an auspicious time for marriage.

On Sunday, August 10, at 7:00 p.m., hundreds of young Jewish professionals, ages 20-33, from across Miami and beyond will converge under the stars in a chic waterfront venue in Bal Harbour, Florida for the second annual “Tu B’Av White Party.” Donned in white attire, they will celebrate Tu B’Av in great style (location to be announced) with like-minded individuals, and perhaps find their bashert with whom to build a bayis ne’eman b’Yisrael. The event will feature an open bar, live DJ, refreshments, and more, and promises to be an evening of mirth, merriment, and mingling.

That this exclusive event is a Steve Eisenberg presentation is not surprising. A highly successful banker, consultant, sought-after speaker and teacher, Steve’s shiurim are acclaimed throughout the global Jewish community, drawing audiences from near and far. Despite the demands of his busy schedule, and with nary a moment to spare, he is an ardent activist for Klal Yisrael, elucidating, enlightening and inspiring by reaching out and connecting to Jews. Through his weekly classes, stellar events, and other initiatives, he continues to make a difference by transforming lives. Ever attuned to the needs of the Klal, Steve has been the catalyst for over 100 couples to embark upon their respective “happily ever after” after meeting at one of his curated Monday night classes, YJP Shabbat Dinners, and Shabbatonim.

Steve is director and co-founder of JICNY, a home away from home for foreign Jews, as well as RAJE (Russian American Jewish Experience). He was former Managing Director of investment firm Ehrenkrantz King Nussbaum Inc., having previously served as a Vice President at Bear Stearns, specializing in Risk Arbitrage and as a Wall Street consultant. Steve’s Monday night classes in Manhattan attract over 100 people and he is frequently asked to speak and lead programs throughout the global Jewish community. Additionally, he has led 19 Birthright trips to Israel, co-founded Shabbos Across America with Rabbi Ephraim Buchwald, and hosted and prepared Shabbos meals for thousands of young Jewish professionals over the years, affording them the opportunity to savor the sanctity of Shabbos while transmitting the treasured tradition of his parents, Walter, z’l, and Phyllis, ybl’c, Eisenberg who raised him and his brothers in a home steeped in Torah values. He is an exemplar of hachnasat orchim. Throughout the year, he sets up thousands of young professionals with warm and welcoming homes to experience the beauty of a true oneg Shabbos.

“Everyone talks about the shidduch crisis but there is not one single solution,” Steve notes. “We must try to do our hishtadlus, but ultimately, the berachah comes from Above. Everyone must consider a single boy or girl as they would their own children. Everyone must try. See someone, do something—even one each week.”

Clearly, Steve is doing his part to alleviate, and hopefully obliterate, the shidduch crisis and facilitate the building of present and future batim ne’emanim b’Yisrael.

If you are a young Jewish professional between 20-33 (strictly enforced), be sure to be part of this this not-to-be-missed event!
