The Biden Health Cover-Up Is A National Disgrace
By Congressman Anthony D’Esposito
For the past several years, Americans have been asked to ignore what they’ve seen with their own eyes. We were told not to question. We were told to remain silent. We were told that anyone who expressed concern over President Joe Biden’s health was engaging in conspiracy or cruelty. And now, as the truth becomes impossible to hide, the very people who orchestrated the cover-up are begging the country to “move forward.”
No. Not this time.
What we’re witnessing is not just a political embarrassment—it’s a full-blown crisis of accountability. And it didn’t happen overnight. It was manufactured, stage-managed, and shielded from scrutiny by Democratic leaders, Biden’s inner circle, and a media machine more interested in protecting a political narrative than reporting the truth.
This isn’t just about Joe Biden’s health, it’s about deception, deflection, and the willful gaslighting of the American people to preserve power at all costs.
The warning signs were flashing red for years. Biden’s public appearances have been marked by slurred speech, long pauses, missed cues, and troubling gaffes. He struggles to navigate stairs; he forgets names, he confuses world leaders, and he relies too heavily on handlers to guide him through even the most basic interactions. During his debate with President Donald J. Trump, he unraveled on live television.
Anyone paying attention knew something was wrong. And yet, we were told repeatedly that everything was fine. His aides insisted he was just “tired.” His press team dismissed concerns as partisan noise. Friendly media outlets ignored the obvious signs and instead painted critics as bullies, conspiracy theorists, or worse. Now, as behind-the-scenes accounts, insider leaks, and the obvious declines in the former president’s health mount, these same people are changing their tune. Suddenly, it’s acceptable to acknowledge what was plain to see—but only now that it’s politically convenient.
This isn’t transparency: it’s opportunism.
Let’s not pretend this cover-up was limited to Biden’s team. The media played a central role in shielding President Biden from accountability. Reporters with unparalleled access saw what was happening behind the scenes. They heard the whispers from White House staff. They were present for the briefings where questions were pre-screened, access was limited, and the President was ushered away before the press could question him further. Instead of doing their jobs, they participated in the cover-up. They mocked Republicans for raising concerns. They turned legitimate questions into late-night punchlines. They ran interference instead of reporting. And now, they’re playing dumb, pretending they were deceived like the rest of us. That’s a lie.
They weren’t misled. They were complicit.
We’re not just talking about public perception here. We’re talking about the most powerful office in the world, an office that demands clarity, strength, and sound judgment. The President of the United States is responsible for our national defense, international diplomacy, and economic stability. When the person in charge is unwell and that fact is concealed from the American people, we’re not just facing political malpractice, we’re facing a threat to our national security. What crises were mismanaged because of this deception? What global actors took advantage of the situation, sensing weakness? What decisions were made—or not made—because staffers were too busy managing optics to manage operations?
The White House has a duty to lead. Instead, it chose to deceive.
Now that the public knows to what extent the political class is willing to go to deceive them, these same people who spent years gaslighting the country are now calling for unity, urging us to “move forward.” No accountability. No apologies or explanation. No transparency. Just a reset, as if none of it happened.
But this time, the American people aren’t buying it. Because this was no mistake. It was a strategy. Democrats knew Biden’s condition was deteriorating. They knew he could not withstand real scrutiny. But instead of telling the truth, they pushed him forward, propping him up as a placeholder for the far-left agenda they couldn’t sell on its own. And when concerns came from the right, they used them as ammunition, accusing Conservatives of cruelty while hiding behind Biden’s image of grandfatherly charm.
Now, with the façade crumbling, they want a pass? Not a chance.
This entire episode reflects a broader rot in our institutions. Political elites and legacy media have grown comfortable telling the public what to believe, regardless of what the facts say. Their job is no longer to inform or represent, but to manipulate and control. We saw it with COVID. We saw it with the border. We saw it with inflation. And now we see it with the health of the president, which was purposefully covered up. It’s a top-down culture of concealment, and it’s getting worse, not better. There was a time when the press would have demanded medical records, independent evaluations, and live press conferences with no staff intervention. Today, the media demand silence, conformity, and blind allegiance to the narrative.
The American people are not stupid. They’re not unkind. They don’t expect perfection from their leaders. But they do expect honesty. They do expect transparency. And they do expect their president to be capable of fulfilling the duties of his office. If there is a health issue, whether cognitive, neurological, or physical, it must be disclosed. Not for political gain, but for the protection of the Republic. And if the President’s closest advisors, party, and media allies are engaged in a coordinated effort to hide his failing health from the public, then the country deserves more than just a “pivot.” We deserve accountability. That means public testimony. That means internal investigations and an honest reckoning on how deep the deception went—and who allowed it to happen.
Benjamin Franklin famously said, “It’s a republic—if you can keep it.” Well, we won’t keep it if the American people are lied to about the most fundamental question in government: Is the President fit to lead?
This wasn’t just about protecting Joe Biden; it was about protecting a political machine. And that machine was willing to lie, deflect, and manipulate to hold onto power—at the expense of the truth. That’s not just deceptive: it betrays the very principles this country was founded on.
President Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis is sad. I pray that he finds the best treatment and recovers. The blame for this coverup is less on President Biden than it is on his family, close advisors, and the media.
