Terrible Tucker

By: Larry Gordon

Broadcast journalist Tucker Carlson did not become a sudden or overnight critic or hater of Israel and Jews. It has to be that the sentiment has been stewing or percolating for a long time. It’s only recently that the expression of those feelings has burst forth and are out there for all to see and feel.

And Tucker has allies who now feel comfortable coming out criticizing Jews and anything Jewish. And that does not only include nutcases like Nick Fuentes, but also right-wing Republicans in Congress like Marjorie Taylor Green and Thomas Massie.

The hostility toward Israel is dressed up as if they are supporters of an America First policy, which is a good policy that was brought to government by President Trump, but it’s not very good when it’s used to marginalize Israel in an exclusive fashion, or used as an excuse for supporting and building up Israel’s enemies, mostly in the Moslem world.

On one hand, over the many years that Carlson was a featured presenter on Fox News, it’s difficult to recall him ever referencing it or doing a segment on his program about Jews or Israel. That would seem to indicate that somewhere in his psyche he had an issue with Israel and chose not to speak about the Jewish State rather than expressing what we now know is very extreme hostility to anything having to do with Jews and Israel.

Carlson was a strong supporter of the Trump re-election campaign and he is supposed to be very close to both Donald Trump, Jr. and Vice President JD Vance.

Of late, however, Carlson has almost exclusively featured only avowed Jew-haters on his regularly featured podcast. The word circulating is that Carlson has struck a deal with the government of Qatar, which provides him with many millions of dollars in exchange for Carlson using his platform to vilify Israel.

To that end, Carlson has spoken incessantly about things like how Bibi Netanyahu manages to control both U.S. foreign policy and President Trump. For example, Carlson has been vehemently outspoken regarding the B-2 bombing mission that obliterated Iran’s nuclear sites and their dangerous underground nuclear program.

It has been reported that Carlson (who used to speak with Trump regularly and is in frequent contact with VP Vance) told the administration that their attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities would lead to a world war and cost thousands of lives in the U.S. military.

Of course, Carlson was way off the mark and just plain wrong. But he’s not alone. He has other hateful allies like Candace Owens. With the long drawn-out war with Hamas in Gaza and with the terrorists imprisoning, torturing, and murdering hundreds of innocent civilians, Carlson and the other Jew-haters saw this situation as an economic opportunity.

It was the pro-Hamas and anti-Israel rallies on college campuses that convinced them that there was a growing movement of people intent on denigrating Israel and protesting loudly and unabashedly in support of terror and murder so long as the target of such attacks were Jews.

That movement and Israel’s response to Hamas (a group that uses their own people as human shields) led to the claim that Israel was committing “genocide” in Gaza.

That fit perfectly into the Hamas public relations plan and tipped world opinion in the direction of actually buying into the idea that Israel was killing Palestinians in Gaza just for the sake of it. Those with a predisposition toward antisemitism and Jew-hatred, such as Fuentes, Owens, and now Carlson, felt like they won first prize in a Jew-hating lottery.

These nouveau Jew-haters perhaps are not aware that this business of targeting Jews comes under the heading of “Nothing new under the sun.”

It’s deeply disturbing to think what shape we’d be in if someone like Kamala Harris was elected president a year ago instead of Donald Trump. It’s Trump who understands that he was saved by a hairsbreadth from an assassin’s high-powered rifle for a purpose that revolves around Jews and Israel. Even if he doesn’t understand that himself, he has an Orthodox Jewish daughter (Ivanka) and son-in-law (Jared Kushner) to spell it out for him.

Things like that don’t occur because you happen to be lucky one day. Carlson and the few other Jew-haters believe that they’re onto something new, that the answer to all the world’s problems has one easy explanation, and it’s all about the Jews.

Even though they have his ear, Trump is not really taking them seriously or listening to them. Anytime he feels a little pain in that right ear lobe, the president is reminded of what could have been.

Carlson, Owens, Fuentes, Green, and Massie have devolved into comic book characters more than anything else. Trump took the initiative to destroy the Iranian nuclear infrastructure and has made it clear that if Hamas does not listen carefully to his directions, they will be sent on the same route as their unfortunate nuclear scientists and obliterated atomic sites.

In the meantime, Tucker Carlson thinks he discovered the answer to what is troubling the world. And no, it’s not Israel or the Jews. Maybe Donald has to let him know that it’s him—Terrible Tucker.
