YU Direct Gives High School Students a Head Start on Their Future

New program accepts exceptional students to a Yeshiva University graduate degree program before they even begin college.

Yeshiva University has launched YU Direct, a program that allows qualified high school applicants to secure early admission to select YU graduate programs at the same time they are admitted as undergraduates. The initiative creates an accelerated path toward an advanced degree before students even begin college.

“At Yeshiva University, we believe that students with great aspirations should have the support to pursue them from the earliest possible moment,” said Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University. “YU Direct empowers young people to look beyond their bachelor’s degree toward lives of professional achievement, purpose, and impact. With the strength of one University behind them, they can approach their future with confidence and a vision for all that they can become.”

The program draws on the full range of Yeshiva University’s nationally recognized graduate and professional schools. Participating programs include the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, College of Dental Medicine, Katz College of Science and Health, Sy Syms School of Business, Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration, Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies, the Graduate Program in Advanced Talmudic Studies, and the Emil A. and Jenny Fish Center for Holocaust & Genocide Studies.

Students interested in medicine, technology, artificial intelligence, computer science, cybersecurity, data analytics, law, psychology, dentistry, finance, management, social work, education, healthcare, or advanced Jewish scholarship can map a clear trajectory from the start of their undergraduate years.

For students whose goals develop after they arrive on campus, YU’s Pathways programs provide another route. Eligible undergraduates can earn graduate-level credits that count toward both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees, reducing time to an advanced credential and maximizing tuition value.

Pathways options include social work, business, finance, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, computer science, cybersecurity, data analytics and Jewish education, among other fields.

“One of the great strengths of Yeshiva University is the breadth of opportunity we can offer students at every stage of their academic journey,” said Selma Botman, Ph.D., Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Some students arrive with a clear professional goal already in mind, while others discover that direction during their undergraduate years. YU Direct and Pathways give students more ways to move forward with purpose, take full advantage of our resources and begin building toward their future as early as possible.”

Together, YU Direct and Pathways give students structured ways to move from high school ambition or mid-college discovery into graduate and professional study, backed by the resources of a single university.
