For Curtis Sliwa
By: Larry Gordon
If you reside in New York City and don’t want to see the city turn into a third-world country, it’s vital you remain unintimidated by the pollsters and make a concerted effort to vote for Curtis Sliwa on Election Day.
The polls suggest that leftist, socialist, Jew-hating Zohran Mamdani is set to become the next mayor of New York. Originally, it was speculated that two of the three candidates would withdraw, leaving just one to oppose Mamdani with the hope there were enough sane New Yorkers left to elect anyone opposing Mamdani.
But the other three candidates, Cuomo, Adams, and Sliwa, have refused to withdraw, even though they’re doing dismally in the polls.
This lack of urgency surrounding getting the other candidates to withdraw represents the notion (possibly ludicrous) that there is a long-term political advantage to allowing a Socialist-Communist to take over as mayor of New York.
In fact, Mamdani is so politically toxic that, until just a few days ago, New York Governor Kathy Hochul refused to endorse the Communist assemblyman, who is dead set on outdoing Bill de Blasio when it comes to deconstructing and ruining the Big Apple, once considered the greatest city in the world.
Hochul only came out in favor of Mamdani because the extreme left threatened to primary her when she comes up for election in November of 2026. She thinks she made a “deal” with these people, and they will live by their bargain to not set up an even more extreme leftist to oppose her in the Democratic Primary. But don’t worry, these people are double-crossing liars. For now, they got Hochul to endorse the lunatic leftist. But that’s for now. It’s likely to change later.
For now, Chuck Schumer, the senior Democrat in the Senate, and Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader of the House, have held back on endorsing Mamdani. They are both fearful of what the Mamdani, Ilhan Omar, and AOC radical left can do to their political futures.
Schumer is the highest-ranking U.S. official who is Jewish, and he has been a profound disappointment to Jews everywhere, especially his constituents in New York. Schumer is stuck today between the proverbial rock and a hard place. Last March, he ironically wrote a book on antisemitism in America, issuing a warning to American Jews, and now he’s stuck in the position of having to endorse an avowed antisemitic Jew-hater and a man who supports the Hamas murder of Jews if he wants to survive politically. Mamdani is a member of the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, a party that has been a strong critic of Israel’s policies, advocating for Palestinian rights and supporting the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. These are positions he still holds.
If Schumer doesn’t support Mamdani, he will most likely face a primary challenge against the unaccomplished Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). The reality is that AOC is going to challenge him for his Senate seat no matter what Schumer does. No matter how much he double talks and denigrates Bibi Netanyahu or Israel, AOC and Mamdani hate him because he is an old Jew who used to support Israel before he was forced to withdraw his support. The joke is on Chuck.
At this stage, whether any one of these candidates for mayor pulls out has become a moot point. The conventional thinking now is that it’s good for the Republican Party if Mamdani, AOC, Ilhan Omar, and Bernie Sanders (another old Jew) become the face of the new Democratic Party.
And that is precisely what elected officials like Schumer and Jeffries fear, that they will be associated with Mamdani and AOC as the face of the Democratic Party, which is exactly what the majority of Americans do not want representing them in any legislative forum.
Gov. Hochul made a tough decision, which means that her next election will most likely be against Republican Elise Stefanik, who is currently serving as the U.S. representative for New York’s 21st congressional district. The 2026 gubernatorial election will be a test case of what happens when a Democratic politician aligns himself with a leftist, anti-Israel, Jew-hating political figure like Zohran Mamdani.
Republicans and Independents don’t want to be identified with anything even remotely resembling that. The question is: How many Democrats want that identity pasted on their foreheads? We hope the answer is not too many.
