AMIT To Honor Visionary Leaders At National Event

(Courtesy of AMIT) Celebrate an evening of inspiration and impact at AMIT Children’s National Event, Sunday, November 9, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage. For 100 years, the AMIT educational network has been dedicated to securing Israel’s future through education—and today, that mission is more vital than ever.

The event theme, “Extraordinary Times, Extraordinary Leaders,” honors those whose bold vision has opened doors for Israeli children—giving them the tools and opportunities to thrive. AMIT is proud to honor Chella Safra, marking the dedication of the Chella & Moise Safra Athletic Complex at Kfar Batya; Norma Holzer with the Keter Shem Tov award; and Elana and Daniel Miller with the Presidential Leadership Award.

Chella and Moise, z’l, Safra have long been enthusiastic supporters of Jewish education, community, and Israel—a beautiful reflection of AMIT’s core values. Their steadfast dedication to academic excellence and uplifting Israel’s youth aligns perfectly with AMIT’s approach of nurturing each child, in and out of the classroom. The evening will mark the dedication of the Chella and Moise Safra Athletic Complex, an integral part of AMIT’s new campus in Ra’anana that will help students build strength and confidence.

Norma Holzer followed in her mother, Dina Dyckman’s, z’l, footsteps from a young age, cultivating a deep loyalty to AMIT and its mission. Serving as AMIT’s 17th president, 30 years after her mother held that same position (when AMIT was Mizrachi Women), Norma has ensured the Dyckman/Holzer family legacy remains constant in its commitment to Jewish Zionist values, the development of the State of Israel, and the growth of its children.

Elana and Daniel Miller’s journey with AMIT began with a pioneering Bitcoin gift that combined the Millers’ deep love for Israel with their passion for investing in Jewish education. Attracting fresh faces to AMIT among their peers, Daniel and Elana have joined several missions to Israel to see AMIT schools in action. The passion the Millers bring to their work with AMIT promises an exciting and enduring partnership.

AMIT is thrilled to have retired, four-star general Michael Kurilla as the evening’s featured speaker. The highly decorated career military officer served as the 15th commander of the United States Central Command, from 2022-2025, overseeing at least 15 major combat operations. Among those was U.S. Operation Midnight Hammer, which struck Iranian nuclear sites this past June, following Israel’s own campaign, Rising Lion, inside Iran. During that conflict, Kurilla’s leadership was pivotal in fostering collaboration between the United States military and the IDF and protecting Israeli soil.

Guests will hear personal stories of sacrifice and bravery from AMIT students and staff, highlighting the unbreakable spirit of Am Yisrael. The evening will also spotlight alumni in the Israeli Air Force who were instrumental in June’s attacks on Iran and feature a moving rendition of “A New Day Will Rise” by a talented AMIT student singer.

AMIT continually innovates to deliver a quality, Jewish values-based education to each of its 42,000 students across 91 schools. Its groundbreaking programming and cutting-edge new campus are reshaping the landscape of learning in Israel—thanks to dedicated supporters who invest in the potential of AMIT students. AMIT’s National Event offers a unique opportunity to stand with them and contribute to the next chapter of Israel’s story.

Join AMIT’s National Event on Sunday, November 9, 5:30 p.m., at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place, New York.
