Finding Happily Ever After: Steve Eisenberg Presents The International Shabbaton 2026

From California to Chile, Puerto Rico to Panama, mention Steven Eisenberg’s name and you are sure to elicit unabashed praise. Personable and unpretentious, he is possessed with a passion for making a difference in the life of another Jew.

“I was raised in a home steeped in Torah values and chesed,” he shared. “My parents were both actively involved in our community and they emphasized the importance of Orthodox activism. They inspired us by setting a sterling example of avodas Hashem and ahavas Yisrael.”

Infusing their three sons with these stellar values, Walter, z’l, and Phyllis, ybl’c, Eisenberg transmitted a beautiful legacy for future generations to come. Indeed, Jeff and Shira Eisenberg, Steve’s brother and sister-in-law, are beloved members of our Five Towns community and are pillars of chesed. Jeff is the founder of The Israel Chesed Center; his center is an extraordinary global chesed resource that we will feature in an upcoming article.

Discovering his affinity for inspiring and igniting the pinteleh Yid, Steve was greatly influenced by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, zt’l, Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis, z’l, and Rabbi Ephraim Buchwald, ybl’c.

Much like David battling Goliath, Steve is waging war against assimilation by introducing Jews to the beauty of a Torah-observant lifestyle and the sanctity and splendor of Shabbos. What spurred him to action was a troubling incident that occurred years ago. “My best friend informed me that he had good news as well as bad news to share with me,” Steve recalled. “‘What’s the good news?’ I asked him.” “‘I’m getting married!’ he beamed.” “‘Congratulations! That’s great news! But what’s the bad news…?’ ‘My fiancée isn’t Jewish,’ he replied.”

Shocked to the core by the encounter, Steve realized that he could not merely refuse to attend his friend’s wedding, which featured both a priest and a Reform “clergyman” performing the ceremony. Nor would terminating the longstanding friendship suffice. Encountering intermarriage head-on forced Steve to the bitter realization of its insidious spread and its danger to Klal Yisrael.

Despite the demands of his profession and with nary a moment to spare, the highly successful investment banker became an ardent activist for the Klal, elucidating, enlightening and inspiring by reaching out and connecting to Jews. Through his weekly classes, stellar events and other initiatives, he continues to make a difference as he changes lives.

Steve is director and co-founder of JICNY, a home away from home for foreign Jews. He was former managing director of investment firm Ehrenkranz King Nussbaum Inc., having previously served as a vice president at Bear Stearns, specializing in risk arbitrage, and a Wall Street consultant. Steve’s Monday night classes in Manhattan attract over 100 people and he is frequently invited to speak and lead programs around the world. He has led 19 Birthright trips to Israel, co-founded Shabbos Across America with Rabbi Ephraim Buchwald and hosted and prepared Shabbos meals for thousands of young Jewish professionals over the years, affording them the opportunity to savor the sanctity of Shabbat.

JICNY fosters Jewish identity among young internationals in their 20s and 30s through diverse and inspiring Jewish experiences together with New York City Jews.

“In December 2000 we had our first Shabbat dinner for Australians and South Africans living in New York.” Steve noted. From this event our community has grown to over 8,000 people and 94 couples met through JICNY. With an emphasis on high quality programming and wide-scale affiliation, JICNY is a United Nations of sorts, with people from all over the world gathering on a regular basis for social, cultural, and religious events.

Programs include a highly successful weekly Torah class, led by Steve Eisenberg, followed by history classes and unique Torah classes held in multiple locations.

Transmitting the treasured tradition of his parents, Steve Eisenberg is an exemplar of hachnasas orchim. Throughout the year, he sets up hundreds of young professionals with warm and welcoming homes to experience the beauty of a true oneg Shabbat.

A highly successful investment banker, consultant, sought-after speaker, and teacher, Steve’s classes and shiurim are acclaimed throughout the global Jewish community, drawing participants from near and far. Ever attuned to the needs of the klal, he has been the catalyst for over 300 couples to embark upon their respective “happily ever after” after meeting at one of his past meticulously curated Monday night classes, YJP Shabbat Dinners, and Shabbatonim.

“Everyone talks about the shidduch crisis but there is not one solution,” Steve notes. “We all must try and do our hishtadlus, but ultimately, the berachah comes from Above. Everyone should consider a single each week and make an effort to help them.

Clearly, Steve is doing his part to alleviate—hopefully obliterate—the “Shidduch Crisis.” From March 5 -8, Young Jewish professionals from all over the world will converge, savor, and celebrate the splendor and sanctity of Shabbos as they make connections, enjoy a gourmet Friday night dinner, open bar, lavish Kiddushluncheon, a musical Havdalah on the beach, stellar Saturday night singles event, fabulous Friday morning and Sunday morning programs, and so much more. If you are a 25-42-year-old YJP, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

With meticulous attention to every detail, every event bearing Steve Eisenberg’s name is orchestrated to perfection. This year, he has raised the bar still higher. “We have made many, many matches and connections,” he shared. “Through four Shabbatons, we had over 1,000 participants from 30 cities in 13 countries, featuring fabulous food, internationally known shadchanim/facilitators, icebreakers and interactive events at “The Shul”—Bal Harbour’s beautiful synagogue.” This highly anticipated event sells out quickly and early registration is encouraged. Price: $245 until January 15, $275 until February 19, $350 after.
