Truly Bad Liars

By: Larry Gordon

Now that the war with Iran has captured the world’s attention, primarily since it involves Israel, this is the time when the liars are making their way to the forefront.

The biggest liar on earth is, of course, the government of Iran. Their leaders lie the way other leaders breathe. Right behind the Iranian liars (those alive as well as those who have died) are people like Senator Chuck Schumer and Congressman Hakeem Jeffries followed by a plethora of Democratic elected officials.

There are also some deceptive and dishonest Republicans as well, people like Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and anti-Trump Congressman Tom Massie as well as some others.

This past Monday, when President Trump announced that talks with Iran were proving productive, some Democrats went on the attack, going so far as to call Trump a “liar” and showing skepticism that any talks had taken place. Some, like Senator Bernie Sanders called the operation an “illegal, premeditated, and unconstitutional war.” Their disingenuousness is so pervasive that the only way they can cover up their corruption is by lying some more.

The Iranian leaders and our top elected Jewish official, Senator Schumer, apparently have no choice but to side with each other. It’s funny but also sadly true that President Trump occasionally refers to Chuck Schumer as a “Palestinian.”

This week was not the first time Trump said that. During the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, it became clear that Schumer was siding with Hamas and the lying Palestinians. At the height of the war, while speaking on the floor of the Senate, Schumer called for the resignation of Prime Minister Netanyahu. That’s about the time that Mr. Trump began referring to the senator as a Palestinian.

It’s a humorous reference, but one that unfortunately contains a sense of irony. Chuck Schumer is the highest-ranking Jewish official serving in the government. He also released a book this year on the problem of antisemitism and how to confront it in this day and age. It doesn’t look like his book did much to alleviate the problem other than make him a bit of money, as the antisemitism rages out of control.

Just as bad and as big a fibber as Chuck Schumer is the awful Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, the minority leader in the House, and a man who shamelessly says the dumbest things to the media.

A few days ago, when Jeffries was asked what he thought about the president’s idea to place ICE agents in airports to assist TSA agents, the best Jeffries could offer was to say that he hopes the ICE agents don’t kill anyone as was the case when two civilians were shot and tragically killed in Minneapolis, MN by ICE agents when their lives were put in jeopardy by the protestors in that high-crime city.

When the Gemara wants to illustrate members of society who are not particularly well-behaved or tend to represent the lowest elements of society, they do not hesitate to refer to Persians, who are the modern-day people of Iran.

If you examine the things the Iranian leadership say and do, you will quickly realize that regardless of the topic, whatever they say is either deceptive or misleading. Just the other day, when Trump broke the news that there were ongoing talks between the Iranians and the U.S., the Iranian leaders immediately denied that there were any such negotiations and there was no chance of any kind of ceasefire or peace deal.

Of course, the representatives who are the intermediaries between the U.S. and Iran, countries like Qatar and Turkey, confirmed that there were indeed ongoing talks. No one, regardless of his position in the Iranian hierarchy, can say anything that is even remotely true. That includes pronouncements along the lines that they are “winning the war” and “destroying American ships” and “blowing U.S. and Israeli jets out of the sky.” These statements are not only not true, but often the reverse is the case.

So, why do they tell bald-faced lies about what most regular people would consider a good and positive thing like peace? That’s because it is to their advantage to keep the over 90 million Iranian people angry at America and Israel, and always consider them their mortal and eternal enemy.

There is, of course, an element of the Iranian people who would prefer to live a normal life, but most of them are probably among the 35,000 people murdered by the regime when they demonstrated in the streets and spoke up for peace and freedom for the Iranian people.

Oddly enough, over the past few weeks, the Iranians have remained quiet and reserved amid their ongoing troubles. It seemed as though President Trump and other officials were hoping the people would rise up and overthrow the mullahs and the military. But their reserve hints that they are waiting for the U.S. to finish the job.

President Trump has given them five days to come around and see things his way. Like the president says, it’s either negotiate a peace deal or get obliterated. The president is not depending on promises from Iran to change its ways. As these words are being written, thousands of U.S. forces are on their way to the region to ensure that the Strait of Hormuz remains open and oil tankers can peacefully pass through undisturbed. And if any ships are attacked, that’s when the Marines and troops will come into the picture to restore order. See the above reference to being obliterated.

At this juncture, it seems that the U.S. and Israel will win the war, but there will be no regime change. On the other hand, the top three tiers of radical Islamic leaders in Iran have been wiped out, but those trying to remain in power share the same political philosophies as the dead Ayatollah and those who came before him. That means faking about being devoutly religious while stealing billions of dollars that could lift the tens of millions of Iranians out of poverty.

Right now, those still alive in Iran’s leadership are just trying to keep their jobs and their millions and billions of dollars. All of this can change quickly and it probably will. Just stick around and stay tuned.
